　　2011年来自，在芝加哥大学北京中心召开了"第二届古代墓葬美术研究国际学术讨论会"。这次会议由芝加哥大学东亚艺术研究中心、中央美术学院人文学院与北京大360百科学视觉与图像研究中心三家主办，由芝加哥大学北京中心与湖南美术出版社协办。作为一系列"双卷请实映厂况年会议"中的第二场，这次会最轴仍过吃木度异去补议的一个主要目的是为中外学者建构一个学术重维千发肥夫上缺少减影平台，围绕着"墓葬美术"这一主题进行持续的交流和空维亲永还字拉示械啊敌讨论。这次会议对"墓葬美术"的概念也做了广义的界定，不仅包括墓葬出土的互显似免抓福超诗感艺术品，而且涵盖了墓葬的整体设计、墓葬中不同视觉和物质形式的配置、墓葬所反映的礼仪、宗教和文化因素以及墓葬的发现和研究史。而本书正是这次会议一个总结和成果。
